The Capital Markets CRC invites you to attend a Workshop Series on illegal trading behaviour.


Dr Steven Satchell is one of the most highly regarded academics within the UK investment industry. He has PhDs both from Cambridge University and the London School of Economics, and is a Fellow of Trinity College and the Reader in Financial Econometrics at Cambridge University. He has published over 150 articles and ten books in the areas of econometrics, finance and risk

Dr Satchell will be giving 4 workshops which will introduce participants to seminal papers on illegal trading behaviour. The workshops will provide a detailed introduction to the theory of market manipulation and insider trading, including an exploration of the key propositions in the literature. The first workshop will provide an introduction and a review of the relevant concepts and mathematical underpinnings. Each of the remaining workshops will provide a rigorous derivation of one seminal paper which has significantly advanced our understanding of illegal trading behaviour.
